Dr Fiona Tweedie

Data Strategy Advisor, University of Melbourne

Fiona Tweedie has broad experience in  open data and privacy. She first came to appreciate the interplay between privacy and openness as a policy advisor at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, where she led the development of the OAIC's Principles on Open Public Sector Information.

She went on to run GovHack in Melbourne in 2014 and 2015 and served on the board of Open Knowledge Australia from 2014 to 2016.

In 2017 as a consultant at Deloitte she worked on the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources' open data strategy.

In 2018 she joined the University of Melbourne's Digital and Data team as a data strategy advisor. Her interests include digital liberties, knitting and the fall of the Roman Republic.
